Understanding the Key Points of Starting Diesel Engine Correctly

Whether you start the diesel engine with shake handle or start the diesel engine without shake handle, as a user, it is essential to know the correct starting mode. Here we will explain it in detail for you, and hope you can understand the main points.
1. Disengage the diesel engine from the transmission or put the gearbox in neutral position.
2. Put the parking electromagnet, electrical switch and mechanical control device in the running position.
3. For diesel engines with full-range governors, the throttle should be slightly higher than the idle speed position (about 700 r/min). For cold-state diesel engines with bipolar governors, the accelerator pedal should be pedaled to the bottom and loosened before the starting motor engages.
4. In order to prevent the damage of the starter motor, the meshing time of the starter motor should not exceed 30 seconds at a time, and the time interval of the second successive start should be 2 minutes.
5. Diesel oil pressure gauge shows reading within 15 seconds after starting.
6. The speed of diesel engine should be increased slowly during cold start to ensure adequate lubrication of bearings and stable oil pressure.
7. Load operation can be increased gradually after idling for 3-5 minutes at 1000r/min. It is strictly forbidden to accelerate loading operation immediately after starting of diesel engine. Note that the idle running time of the diesel engine should not be too long, otherwise it will damage the diesel engine.
After successful start-up of diesel engine, the button should be released immediately, and the electric key should be put back to the middle position. At the same time, attention should be paid to the reading of various instruments, especially the oil pressure gauge, and check whether the operation of various parts of the diesel engine is normal.
